The San Antonio Choral Society is currently seeking Tenors & Basses to fill openings in their choir for the 2011-12 Concert Season.

The ten-minute audition consists of singing a prepared piece (i.e. hymn, art song, The Star-Spangled Banner, etc.), vocalizing, basic sight reading, and tonal memory. For more information or to schedule an audition, please contact Ms. Seighman at the above e-mail.

This year's Pops concert features "The music of Gilbert and Sullivan." The creations of this Victorian operatic duo have enchanted audiences and performers for well over a century. Come on a journey with us that will take you from the coast of Cornwall, onto a British warship, into the court room, to Venice and Japan. Along the way you will rub elbows with members of the English elite, the Royal Navy, a band of orphan pirates, a couple of gondoliers, the Emperor of Japan, Little Buttercup, a modern Major General, and Three Little School Maids. This is a cabaret-style event with wine, punch, and refreshments. Reservations recommended.

Event Cost: $20 each - adults and children. Table for 10 - $180. All seats reserved. No other discounts apply for this concert only.

The 2011-2012 Concert Season is our 47th Anniversary. We have an exciting musical journey in store! In October, we are deeply humbled and honored to begin our season with a tribute to the victims and fallen heroes of 9/11. This concert will help raise donations and awareness for The Warrior & Family Support Center of San Antonio. In December, what better way to escape the hustle and bustle and get into the holiday spirit than attending one of our Feast of Carols concerts? We will offer performances in Boerne and San Antonio. Unlike all of the other feasts you attend this holiday season, this one promises not to exceed your daily caloric intake but rather to fill your heart and leave you brimming with all of the peace, joy and wonder of the holidays. In March, we hope you will join us for the lighter side of SACS as we kick back and let our hair down to bring you the music and mayhem of Gilbert and Sullivan for our pops concert and cabaret. In May, we look forward to concluding our season with the powerful and deeply moving Mozart Requiem. Join us as we present programs of traditional and new music under the direction of Jennifer L. Seighman, now in her 1st year with SACS.
